Hi, I am Jaime Barton
From a young age, I was always running around with a disposable camera, capturing every moment I could. As I grew, so did my fascination with photography, evolving from disposable cameras to digital ones, where I delighted in uncovering the tiniest details. My love for storytelling also flourished, as I wrote short stories and devoured fiction novels about horses and the western way of life.
These childhood passions have shaped who I am today. I find immense joy in storytelling through art, personal branding, and photography.
In 2015, I moved to Colorado, and it was there that I fell in love with the West. I discovered a lifestyle I had only dreamed about while growing up in Northern NY, one that I thought had faded into history. The name "Primal Cowgirl" reflects my journey of learning and aspiring to one day truly embody the spirit of a cowgirl.
Recently, I relocated to Oregon, where I’ve been warmly welcomed by the agricultural community. The authenticity and dedication of the ranching and horse community here are incredibly refreshing.
Though I didn’t grow up on a ranch, my appreciation for this enduring lifestyle is profound. I aim to capture the passion, heritage, and hard work that define ranching and its people. My goal is to create art that your grandchildren will proudly display, a testament to the legacy you leave behind.
